Bream: Very good. Report’s that the bream bite is strong over deep brush piles. We are finding the fish around brush 11-12 feet deep but as deep as 25 feet. Red worms are a good bait for these fish. Come out and enjoy some great Santee Cooper Fishing

Striped Bass: Good to very good. Very good school activity is being reported for striper in the early morning and late evening. After fish go down, bumping the bottom with spoons will catch fish. While good numbers of fish are being caught few 26 inch keepers are being landed. Keep in mind that these fish have little chance of living after being caught and released. Let’s all do our part to protect these fish so that we can see keeper fish in the near future

Crappie: Good. Crappie fishing remains good on brush piles in15-18 feet of water on Lake Marion and Moultrie. We are now seeing nice Crappie moving into Eutaw Creek out of Bells Marina

Catfish: Good. The Santee Cooper Lakes have some of the biggest catfish in the nation. The catfish bite has improved from the late summer but will get better as the fall continues. The fish are scattered but are starting to congregate. Try using cut shad and herring for bait. We are heading into some of the best Catfishing months of the year. Nov-Jan always proves to be some of the best fishing of the year. Don’t miss out this year. Largemouth bass: Fair to good. Largemouth bass fishing continues to improve. Anglers are catching good numbers of bass around shallow structure. The better fish have moved shallow and started feeding. Soft plastics have been most productive.
